BOONE, N.C.—Five Appalachian State University faculty members in the Reich College of Education have received the college’s 2017 Outstanding Faculty Awards.

Dr. Woodrow Trathen named chair of RCOE’s Department of Reading Education and Special Education

BOONE, N.C.—Dr. Woodrow Trathen has been named chair of the Department of Reading Education and Special Education (RESE) in Appalachian State University’s Reich College of Education (RCOE). Trathen began his new role in March.

As-U-R helps challenged students succeed

BOONE—A new program at Appalachian State University called As-U-R is helping college students with special challenges adjust to a new learning environment.

Reading Clinic named for Reich College of Education benefactor Pat A. Anderson

BOONE—A reading clinic at Appalachian State University that helps children improve their reading skills has been named in honor of university benefactor Pat A. Anderson of Taylorsville.

A major contribution to the clinic was made by Anderson’s daughters through the TSH Charitable Foundation to honor their mother.
