Hayes School of Music Video Game Ensemble to give recital April 30

BOONE—The Hayes School of Music’s Video Game Ensemble will give a recital Saturday, April 30, at 8 p.m. in Broyhill Music Center’s Rosen Concert Hall on the Appalachian State University campus. Admission is free.

The Video Game Ensemble features 59 students from the Hayes School of Music. It is a student-led ensemble that exclusively plays music found in video games.

The ensemble will begin the recital with “I Don’t Want to Set the World on Fire” by The Ink Spots and “Fallout 3 Theme” by Inon Zur.

The ensemble will then perform “Pokemon Generation 1 Medley” by Junichi Masuda, followed by “The Old Dragonslayer” by Yuka Kitamura.

“Skyrim Main Theme” by Jeremy Soule and “Chrono Trigger/Cross Medley” by Yasunori Mitsuda will then be performed.

The recital will conclude with “Paine’s Theme” by Noriko Matsueda and “This is My Story,” a Final Fantasy X Medley, by Nobuo Uematsu.
