Appalachian Brass Studio Ensembles to perform April 6

BOONE—Four brass studio ensembles from Appalachian State University’s Hayes School of Music will perform Wednesday, April 6, at 8 p.m. in Broyhill Music Center’s Rosen Concert Hall. Admission is free.

The Trombone Choir, directed by Drew C. Leslie, will start the program. The choir will perform “BoneWeek Fanfare 3” by Brad Edwards, “Eclipse” by Joe Buono and “Procession of the Sardar” by Mikhail Ippolitov-Ivanov.

Next on the program will be the Appalachian Tuba/Euphonium Collective. Directed by Bethany Wiese, the group will perform “Bruckner Etude for Low Brass” by Enrique Crespo and “Evolutions” by Benjamin McMillan.

The Appalachian Horn Choir, directed by Karen L. Robertson, will perform the “Legend of the Sleeping Bear” by Eric Ewazen.

The Appalachian Trumpet Choir, directed by James Stokes, will perform “Festival Prelude” by Nicolas Perinni and “Concerto for Clarini” by Johann Ernst Altenburg. The program will conclude with “March for the Ark” by C.P.E. Bach.
