Gardening class on pastel perennials offered Feb. 20

BOONE—A free class on the selection and care of hardy pastel perennials for our area will be offered Saturday, Feb. 20. The class, taught as part of the “High Country Gardening” program will be led by Jerry Meyer, a seasoned cold climate gardener and designer.

The class will be held from 9:30-11 a.m. at the Appalachian State University Department of Biology greenhouse located at 211 Dale St. off State Farm Road

Meyer manages the greenhouse and its 1,000 species of tropical plants. He is a graduate of environmental science at Cornell University, as well as horticulture and botany at the University of Vermont.
