Everts will be installed as Appalachian’s seventh chancellor on April 17

BOONE—Dr. Sheri N. Everts will be installed as Appalachian State University’s seventh chancellor on Friday, April 17, in the Holmes Convocation Center on campus. The ceremony begins at 10 a.m. The public is invited.

Judge Gary L. Henderson, an Appalachian graduate, will administer the oath of office. Speakers at the installation include N.C. Gov. Patrick L. McCrory, Congresswoman Virginia Foxx, N.C. Rep. and Appalachian alumnus Nelson Dollar, UNC President Thomas W. Ross and Chancellor Everts.

Appalachian professor and former poet laureate Joseph Bathanti will read a poem for the occasion. Special music will be provided by the Appalachian State University Orchestra and Appalachian Wind Ensemble, and a combined choir consisting of the Appalachian University Singers, Chamber Singers, Gospel Choir, Treble Choir and Appalachian Chorale.

A reception for campus and community members will be held beginning at 3 p.m. in Roess Dining Hall on campus.
