Brass ensembles perform March 31 in Broyhill Music Center

BOONE—Brass ensembles from Appalachian State University will perform classical and contemporary works during a March 31 performance beginning at 8 p.m. in Broyhill Music Center’s Rosen Concert Hall.

Performing will be the trombone choir, horn choir, tuba/euphonium collective and the trumpet choir.

Music to be performed includes Francis Poulenc’s “Two Little Prayers of St. Francis of Assisi,” Haydn’s “Achieved is the Glorious Work,” Edvard Grieg’s “A Norwegian Suite,” Rossini’s overture to “The Barber of Seville, and Ewazen’s “Fantasia for Seven Trumpets.

Drew C. Leslie directs the trombone choir, Karen L. Robertson directs the horn choir, Bernard H. Flythe directs the tuba/euphonium collective and James Stokes directs the trumpet choir.
