BOONE—The Appalachian Chorale will continue to accept new members on Monday, Jan. 26, in preparation for its April 28 concert of Leonard Bernstein’s “Chichester Psalms” and John Rutter’s folksong cycle “The Sprig of Thyme.”

BOONE—The annual Endowed Scholarship Recital will be held Thursday, Jan. 29, at 8 p.m. in Broyhill Music Center’s Recital Hall at Appalachian State University. Admission is free.

Appalachian to offer Master of Science in Nursing beginning in August

BOONE—The UNC Board of Governors has approved a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree program for Appalachian State University, which is pending approval by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), Appalachian’s accrediting body. The MSN application process will be available once final approval is granted by SACS . The degree will prepare nurse educators. Courses will be offered online and at Appalachian’s off-campus, distance education sites in surrounding counties.

Momentum Dance Showcase to be presented Jan. 23 and 24

BOONE—Appalachian State University’s Department of Theatre and Dance will present the 2015 Momentum Dance Showcase Jan. 23 and 24 at 7:30 p.m. in the Varsity Gym Dance Studio on campus.
