Summer Dance Series begins June 3 with African, jazz and musical theatre dance classes

BOONE—Dance enthusiasts of all ages and abilities are invited to attend the Summer Dance Series sponsored by the Department of Theatre and Dance June 3-26 at Appalachian State University. The classes are free and open to the public.

The series begins June 3 in Room 208 in Varsity Gym with African dance taught by Sherone Price from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. Susan Lutz will teach jazz from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. June 4 and Ray Miller will teach musical theatre dance from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. June 5.

The series will also offer classes in yoga, ballet, hip-hop and other dance styles.

Contact Regina James at Jamesrg@appstate.edu to be included on an email list that will provide details on teachers, classes and calendar line-up.

There is no obligation to attend all classes. Children ages 10 and older are welcome and younger children are welcome with an adult. Classes that are child friendly will be identified in the class descriptions. In lieu of a class fee, donations are welcome.
