Evening of string chamber music presented April 30

BOONE—Works by Beethoven, Debussy and Haydn will be performed April 30 during an evening of string chamber music at Appalachian State University. The performance begins at 8 p.m. in Broyhill Music Center’s Recital Hall. Admission is free.

Students of Professor Nancy Bargerstock, Professor Ken Lurie and assistant professor Eric Koontz in the Hayes School of Music will perform.

The program includes two movements from Haydn’s “Divertimento in G Major,” two movements from Dvořák’s “Terzetto, Op. 74,” the first movement from Beethoven’s “String Quartet Op. 18, No. 4,” two movements from Prokofiev’s “String Quartet No. 2 in F, Op. 92” and two movements from Debussy’s “String Quartet, Op. 10.”

Students performing include violinists Katherine Archer, Jackie Barnes, Chandler Fadero, John Paul Fretwell, David Haskins, Victor Li, Margaret Mauney, Stephen Taperek and Alex Travers.

Violists are Melissa Edd, Cecilia Faulk, Patrick Jones, Katelyne Lagroon and Greg Scurtu.

Cellists are Nick Allion, Kelsey Lynch, Nora Naughton and Nick Paolino.
