Call for submissions for Looking Glass Gallery exhibits

BOONE—The Looking Glass Gallery is accepting proposals for exhibits that will be shown during summer and fall. This is an excellent opportunity for Appalachian State University students, as well as groups, classes, faculty and staff to exhibit their artwork, receive peer feedback, and gain firsthand experience with the gallery submission and exhibition process.

The deadline to apply is Monday, April 14, to the Office of Student Programs on the second floor of Plemmons Student Union, or by email to Erin Taylor, curator of the Looking Glass Gallery, at LookingGlassGalleryASU@gmail.com.

To apply, the artist must submit a completed application form, along with an artist statement, artist biography, and a PowerPoint presentation with images of a cohesive body of work. Application forms can be found on the Looking Glass Gallery website at http://lookingglassgallery.appstate.edu. Group, duo, and class exhibits are also encouraged.

To assist with the application process, the gallery website provides an example of how to submit a strong exhibition proposal.

The Looking Glass Gallery is located on the first floor of the Plemmons Student Union. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. – 10 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. – 10 p.m. and Sunday from noon – 10 p.m. Gallery admission is free.
