BOONE—Student finalists from graduate programs at Appalachian State University will rise to the challenge of presenting their research to a diverse audience Tuesday, Dec. 3. The finalists will each have one PowerPoint slide and three minutes or less to present their research.
The winner of the competition will receive a trip to the annual Conference of Southern Graduate Schools in February to participate in the southern regional competition.
A panel of judges from the community will select the winner based on the ability of the students to explain their research topic, and why it is important to people who are not familiar with the discipline.
The event will take place at 5 p.m. in Plemmons Student Union’s Attic Window Room. The university and Boone communities are invited to attend and vote on a people’s choice award winner.
