BOONE—The Piano Performance Team, consisting of youth from Chapel Hill, will present a concert Sunday, Nov. 10, at Appalachian State University. The performance begins at 4 p.m. in Broyhill Music Center’s Rosen Concert Hall. Admission is free and open to the public.

The piano team will perform “Cortege (Petite Suite)” by Debussy, “Rhapsody in B minor” by Griffles, “Variation in A” by Haydn and “Nocturne in F minor, Op. 55, No. 1” by Chopin.
The last set of songs will include “Gigue in B flat, BWV 825” by Bach, “Turtledove Rag” by Albright, “Le tambour bat aux champs, Op. 50, No. 2” and “Assez vivement, Op. 38, No.1” by Alkan, “Prelude and Fugue No. 20 in A minor BWF 865” by Bach, “Prelude in E flat, Op. 23, No. 6” by Rachmaninoff and “Rag” by Brubeck.
The Piano Performance Team is a group of piano students from Chapel Hill. Membership in the team is by audition. The team was created to give talented young pianists various opportunities to perform as well as to provide a community outreach program in the arts.
The pianists are Yuqing Chen, a senior at Chapel Hill High School; Joshua Facello, a sixth grader at Smith Middle School; Andrew Qin, an eighth grader in the Leap program in Chapel Hill; Anshul Subramana, a senior at the North Carolina School of Science and Math; and Jennifer Xu, a sophomore at East Chapel Hill High School.
