Appalachian Chorale performs works by Britten, Williams and Haydn April 30

BOONE—Dr. Linda Larson directs the Appalachian Chorale in its spring performance April 30. Dr. Joby Bell is the accompanist. The program begins at 8 p.m. in Broyhill Music Center’s Rosen Concert Hall. The public is invited.

The chorale will perform “The Old Hundredth Psalm Tune” arranged by Ralph Vaughan Williams. Trumpeters Trestan Peck, Brooke Humfeld and James Stokes Jr. and timpanist Greg Dills also will accompany the singers.

The chorale also will perform “Missa Brevis Sancti Joannis de Deo, No. 7 in B-flat Major” by Franz Joseph Haydn. Abby Johnson is the soloist. Additional accompanists are Katherine Archer and David Haskins, violin; Nora Naughton, cello; and Alex Mills, bass.

“Rejoice in the Lamb” by Benjamin Britten will feature Elizabeth Thomas, soprano; Grace Vaughan, alto, Chris Plaas, tenor and Kenneth Kennedy, bass.
