BOONE—Learn about the selection and care of winter hardy pastel perennials and a few shrubs during a gardening class April 20 from noon to 2 p.m. at the Appalachian State University Department of Biology Greenhouse off State Farm Road.
The class is part of the “High Country Gardening” program led by Jerry Meyer, a seasoned cold-climate gardener and designer. Meyer manages the greenhouse, with its 750 plant species. He is a graduate of environmental science at Cornell University as well as horticulture and botany at the University of Vermont.
