Looking Glass Gallery issues call for submissions

BOONE—The Looking Glass Gallery is now accepting exhibition proposals for an exhibit from March 20 – April 5. This is an excellent opportunity for Appalachian State University students, groups, classes, faculty and staff to exhibit their artwork, receive peer feedback and gain firsthand experience with the gallery submission and exhibition process.

The deadline to apply is Friday, Feb.15, to the Office of Student Programs located on the second floor of Plemmons Student Union. Applications may also be emailed to Erin Taylor, curator of the Looking Glass Gallery, at LookingGlassGalleryASU@gmail.com.

To apply, the artist must submit a completed application form, along with an artist statement, artist biography, and a CD or PowerPoint presentation with images of a cohesive body of work. Application forms are online at http://lookingglassgallery.appstate.edu. Printed application forms are also located outside the Department of Art on the second floor of Wey Hall.

To assist with the application process, the gallery website provides an example of how to submit a strong exhibition proposal to the gallery.

Gallery hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. – 10 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. – 10 p.m. and Sunday from noon – 10 p.m. Gallery admission is free.
