Kellar Radio Talent Institute delivers mountaintop experience for future broadcasters

BOONE—Twenty-eight broadcast professionals will come to the mountaintop to teach as 17 students come to learn during the 6th annual Kellar Radio Talent Institute July 9-18 on the campus of Appalachian State University.

Appalachian’s Board of Trustees approve title change for University Librarian

BOONE –Appalachian State University’s Board of Trustees has approved a title change for the top administrator of the University Library, which includes Belk Library and Information Commons and the Music Library. Beginning July 1, the title Dean of Libraries replaces the title University Librarian. The change was approved by university trustees during their June meeting.

Marlett named IIANC Distinguished Professor at Appalachian

BOONE—Dr. David C. Marlett has received the Independent Insurance Agents of North Carolina (IIANC) Distinguished Professorship in the Walker College of Business at Appalachian State University.

Hall appointed Humanities Council coordinator

BOONE—Dr. Kim Hall has been appointed coordinator of the Humanities Council at Appalachian State University. Hall, professor of philosophy in the Department of Philosophy and Religion, replaces Dr. Susan Staub, who had steered the council since 2004.

Donovan named associate library dean at Appalachian

BOONE—Associate Professor Georgie Donovan has been named associate dean of libraries at Appalachian State University. She replaces Dr. Ann Viles who retired from the post June 30. Viles will continue to work in the library under the university’s phased retirement system.
