Class on small ornamental trees offered June 18

BOONE—The Appalachian State University Department of Biology will offer a class on the selection and care of small ornamental trees with multi-season interest. The June 18 class is part of the High Country Gardening program taught by Jerry Meyer, biology department greenhouse manager.

Ray Williams receives Wayne D. Duncan Award

Photovoltaic System Design and Construction workshop to be held June 20-24

Course will serve as preparation for NABCEP certification exam

BOONE – Appalachian State University’s Department of Technology and Environmental Design invites the public to attend its five-day workshop on Photovoltaic System Design and Construction, June 20-24.  Participants will be introduced to the basic concepts, tools, techniques and materials needed to design and construct battery-based and grid-direct photovoltaic systems. 

An Appalachian Summer Festival receives National Endowment for the Arts grant

BOONE, N.C. – Appalachian State University’s An Appalachian Summer Festival has received a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) for a second consecutive year.
