Campus siren warning system tested April 6

BOONE—Appalachian State University will test its campus-wide siren warning system Wednesday, April 6, at 11:55 a.m. Tests are normally conducted on the first Wednesday of the month. For more information about the warning system, visit http://epo.appstate.edu/siren-warning-system.

Poetry reading by Peter Blair held April 7

blair_t.jpgBOONE—Poet Peter Blair will present the Juanita Tobin Memorial Reading April 7 as part of the Hughlene Bostian Frank Visiting Writers Series at Appalachian State University. He will present the craft talk “From the ‘Steel Mill’ to the Poem: Processing Experience Through Revision” at 2 p.m. in Room 224 I.G. Greer. His reading begins at 7:30 p.m. in Plemmons Student Union’s Table Rock Room. Both presentations are free and open to the public.

Pianist Reynerson performs April 6

BOONE—Pianist Rodney Reynerson performs April 6 at 8 p.m. in Broyhill Music Center’s Rosen Concert Hall at Appalachian State University. Admission is free.

Children’s author Susan Roth speaks April 5 at Appalachian

BOONE—Susan Roth, the noted children’s author whose project “Let’s Hold Hands” has reached across the world, will return to Appalachian State University Tuesday, April 5, to present an update on the project and open an exhibit of her collages. Her visit is sponsored by Belk Library and Information Commons.
