Appalachian’s yearbook, The Rhododendron, now online

rhododendronseries_t.jpgBOONE— Appalachian State University’s yearbook, The Rhododendron, is now online through DigitalNC.org, the online home for materials published by the North Carolina Digital Heritage Center. The site has images and full-text searching available for many North Carolina college and university yearbooks.

The North Carolina Digital Heritage Center is a new, statewide digitization and digital publishing program housed in the North Carolina Collection at UNC-Chapel Hill.  The center operates in conjunction with the State Library of North Carolina’s NC ECHO (North Carolina Exploring Cultural Heritage Online) project.  It is supported by the State Library of North Carolina with funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act.

Also available are “Images of North Carolina.” This collection features images of original materials from a variety of institutions, including the Orange County Historical Museum, the Sallie Mae Ligon Museum and Archives at the Masonic Home for Children in Oxford, and UNC-Chapel Hill.
