Deadline extended for Staff Council’s food drive
BOONE—The deadline for participating in Appalachian State University’s Staff Council’s “Show that you have a heart” food drive challenge has been extended through Feb. 17.
The campuses that make up the UNC System are part of a statewide effort to collect canned goods and toiletries for local food banks and charities. Each campus will deliver their collected donations to the charity of their choice.
The Hunger and Health Coalition in Boone will benefit from the Staff Assembly Day of Service at Appalachian.
Donations of food and non-perishable items will be collected at the following locations
- Plemmons Student Union, first floor Recycling Center next to Crossroads
- Wey Hall Room 232
- Fine and Applied Arts Dean’s Office, 214 Locust St.
- Edwin Duncan Hall, second floor outside the Reich College of Education’s associate dean’s office
- University Hall, Conferences and Institutes
- Broyhill Inn and Conference Center
- Turchin Center for the Arts
- Health Promotions, Varsity Gym
- B.B. Dougherty Administration Building, campus-side doors
- Lucy Brock Child Development Center
- Hubbard Center, Anne Belk Hall
- Child Development Center, Poplar Grove Road
- Walker College of Business, student lounge, second floor, Raley Hall
