Appalachian Brass Ensembles perform Nov. 30

BOONE—Brass ensembles from Appalachian State University’s Hayes School of Music will perform Nov. 30 in a free performance beginning at 8 p.m. in Broyhill Music Center’s Rosen Concert Hall.

The Appalachian Tuba/Euphonium Collective will perform Tylman Susato’s “Renaissance Dances,” John Cheetham’s “Consortium” and the traditional “I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day.”

The Horn Choir will perform the first movement from Paul Hindemith’s “Sonata II for Organ.”

The Trumpet Choir will perform Ronald Lo Presti’s “Suite for Five Trumpets,” Samuel Scheidt’s “Canzon” and James Sclater’s “Soundings for Eight Trumpets in B flat.”

The Trombone Choir will perform Biagio Marini’s “Canzona,” Camille Saint-Saëns’s “Adagio” and Jean Sibelius’s “Finlandia.”
