Appalachian Glee Club performs Nov. 13

BOONE—Works for male singers are featured during the Nov. 13 performance of the Appalachian Glee Club at Appalachian State University. The free performance begins at 8 p.m. in Broyhill Music Center’s Rosen Concert Hall.

The 51-member group is directed by Jason Thompson. Piano accompaniment is provided by Rodney Ward and Ann Miles.

The group will sing Aaron Copland’s “Zion Walls arranged by Glen Kopenen, “Oh, How Can I Keep From Singing” by Robert A. Harris and arranged by David Lohman, Noah F. Ryder’s “Love Song,” “The Battle Hymn of the Republic” by William Steffe and arranged by Peter J. Wilhousky, “Rainbow ‘Roun My Shoulder” arranged by Robert DeCormier and “Behold Man” byRon Nelson.

The vocal ensemble What’s Yer Pleasure will perform “Africa” and “Fare Thee Well Love.”

The program concludes with the traditional performance of “Brothers, Sing On!”
