Virtual Learning

VRDavie_t2.jpgPatty Harrington, right, and a student from North Davie Middle School participate in a virtual world workshop at Appalachian State University. The workshop, supported by a grant from the National Science Foundation, is designed to help students and their teachers create computerized 3D virtual worlds to explore science, math, technology and other subjects. Harrington, a seventh-grade science teacher at North Davie Middle School, will use a virtual world simulation to teach a unit on severe weather. The workshop is part of a project between Appalachian’s Reich College of Education and Davie and Catawba county schools.
