Student artists sought for Art Expo 2009

BOONE—Appalachian State University is seeking artists to participate in Art Expo 2009.  The annual juried student exhibition will be displayed in Farthing Auditorium’s Catherine J. Smith Gallery and will feature a range of artworks by Appalachian students.

Appalachian’s Belk Library presents series on WPA’s Writers’ Project

Hurston_t.jpgBOONE—Belk Library and Information Commons at Appalachian State University will present a series of programs titled “Soul of a People: Writing America’s Story” beginning April 5.

Student compositions performed Feb. 25 at Appalachian

BOONE—A student recital Feb. 25 features compositions inspired by Appalachian State University’s Darwin Bicentennial celebration. The recital begins at 8 p.m. in Broyhill Music Center’s Rosen Concert Hall. Admission is free.

Informational meeting on World Camp volunteer opportunities held Feb. 25

BOONE—An informational meeting about World Camp Inc. will be held Wednesday, Feb. 25, at 7:30 p.m. in Plemmons Student Union’s  Table Rock Room at Appalachian State University.

International Coffee Hour held every Friday at Appalachian

BOONE—International Coffee hour is held every Friday from 12:30-2:30 p.m. in Plemmons Student Union’s Whitewater Café at Appalachian State University.  The event includes free coffee, food, entertainment and great conversation with the international community in Boone. 

Summer abroad program offered in international entrepreneurship

Appalachian to offer online degree in health promotion

BOONE—Appalachian State University will begin offering an online degree-completion program leading to a bachelor of science degree in health promotion summer semester 2009.
