College of education groundbreaking to be held Dec. 4
BOONE—Groundbreaking for Appalachian State University’s new college of education building will be held Thursday, Dec. 4, at 4 p.m. at the construction site at the corner of College Street and Hamby Alley across from First Baptist Church in Boone.
Speakers are Erskine B. Bowles, president, The University of North Carolina; James M. Deal Jr.
chairman of Appalachian’s Board of Trustees; Loretta Clawson, mayor of the Town of Boone; Charles R. Duke, dean of the Reich College of Education; David F. Mofford, president of Appalachian’s Student Government Association; and Chancellor Kenneth E. Peacock.
A reception will follow in the Plemmons Student Union solarium.
