The barbershop quartet MAX Q performs Sept. 20 during the 27th Annual Barbershop Show in Boone.

MaxQ_t.jpgBOONE—The 27th Annual Barbershop Show will be held Saturday, Sept. 20, at 7:30 p.m. in Broyhill Music Center’s Rosen Concert Hall at Appalachian State University. The event is sponsored by the Watauga County Arts Council and Appalachian State University’s Hayes School of Music.

The show will feature MAX Q the 2007 International Champions of the Barbershop Harmony Society from Dallas, Texas, and Orlando, Fla. Also performing will be Triad Harmony Express from Winston-Salem and two groups from Appalachian: High Country Post and Treble Attraction.

All seats are reserved. Tickets are $18 in advance and $20 at the door. Tickets are on sale at Rydell Music Center on Hwy. 105 south in Boone, or by mail by sending a check made payable to Harmony Sounds at P.O. Box 454, Boone, NC 28607. Proceeds will benefit music scholarships awarded by the Watauga County Arts Council.
