Finding Jobs
More than 80 school systems visited campus to recruit new teachers during Appalachian’s education fair sponsored by the university’s Career Development Center. About 350 students talked with superintendents and other representatives about jobs after graduation, including senior elementary education major Holly Heavner, left photo. “I met with representatives from not only North Carolina but Virginia and Tennessee. All of them are eager for me to fill out applications. It is great to feel wanted coming straight out of college,” said Heavner, who is student teaching at Watauga County’s Green Valley Elementary School this semester.
