Constitution Day program presented Sept. 17 at Appalachian

BOONE—Faculty members from Appalachian State University will present a panel discussion on the U.S. Constitution Monday, Sept. 17, at 7 p.m. in Room 114 Belk Library and Information Commons. Panelists will speak about “The Constitution: Then and Now.”

The presentation is part of national Constitution Day and Citizenship Day educational activities.

Panelists are Steve Simon, Department of History, who will present “Historical Background for the Authors of the Constitution”; Phillip Ardoin, Department of Political Science and Criminal Justice, who will present “Our Founding Fathers: Statesmen or Politicos? What Your Civics Teacher Didn’t Tell You about the Philadelphia Convention”; Brian Ellison, Department of Political Science and Criminal Justice, who will present “The Constitution and Federalism”; and

Greg Reck, Department of Anthropology, who will present “The Constitution and the Invasion of Iraq.”
