Foulsham joins Appalachian’s Office of Equity, Diversity and Compliance

07_07Foulsham03_t.jpgBOONE—Linda M. Foulsham has been named director of affirmative action, equal opportunity employment and compliance at Appalachian State University.

Based in the Office of Equity, Diversity and Compliance, Foulsham will serve as a resource to academic and administrative units and university constituencies regarding EEO/AA matters, oversee the affirmative action component of the job searches on campus, closely monitor the university’s AA/EEO plan and monitor university policies and practices for equity.

She also will investigate discrimination and/or harassment complaints, and assist with dispute resolution.

As a former attorney with the law firm of Devine, Millimet & Branch, Foulsham provided legal counsel to the University System of New Hampshire (USNH). She also has served as USNH assistant general counsel. She spent two years as a law clerk to the justices of the Massachusetts Superior Court.

Foulsham earned a juris doctor degree from Suffolk University Law School in Boston and a bachelor’s degree from the University of New Hampshire.

The Office of Equity, Diversity and Compliance at Appalachian is responsible for developing and sustaining campus work, learning and living environments that are fair, inclusive and welcoming for all members of the university community.
