English scholars honored

07_03writers22_t.jpgThe Department of English at Appalachian State University honored faculty members whose scholarly and creative work has been published recently. They include, from left, Elizabeth “Betsy” Beaulieu, Rosemary Horowitz, Cece Conway and Sandra Ballard. Beaulieu is the editor of Writing African American Women: An Encyclopedia of Literature By and About Women of Color. Horowitz wrote the book “Elie Wiesel and the Art of Storytelling.” Conway is the producer and director of the video “Banjo Maker and Player Clifford Glenn and Maybell Glenn.” Ballard is co-editor of “The Collected Short Stories of Harriette Simpson Arnow.” Other faculty members whose works have been published are Joseph Bathanti, author of the novel “Coventry,” and William Brewer, editor of “St. Leon: A Tale of the Sixteenth Century” by William Godwin.
