Eating Disorders Awareness Week observed Feb. 26-March 1 at Appalachian

BOONE—A series of information sessions and programs will be held at Appalachian State University Feb. 26-March 1 as part of Eating Disorders Awareness Week. The activities are sponsored by Appalachian’s Counseling and Psychological Services Center, an office in the Division of Student Development.

The theme of the week is “Get Real Expectations, Get Real Role Models, Get Real!”

People with eating disorders can’t always see what’s real, explains Dr. Denise Lovin, a psychologist with the Counseling and Psychological Services Center. “We hope to protect our students by offering real world examples of a healthy body image and providing real information,” she said.
