Summer Holocaust Symposium held June 25-29 in Boone

BOONE—A symposium designed to develop new educational opportunities for students, teachers and the community to better understand the Holocaust will be held June 25-29 at Appalachian State University.

Department of Theatre and Dance presents comedy ‘Moon Over Buffalo’

BOONE- Appalachian State University’s Department of Theatre and Dance will present the comedy “Moon Over Buffalo” in the Valborg Theatre Feb. 14-17 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 19 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10 and $6 and can be purchased at the Valborg Theatre Box Office or online at www.theatre.appstate.edu. BOONE—The Fourth Annual Appalachian Mountain Photography Competition seeks entries from amateur and professional photographers.

Student Honors Recital Series features pianists in Feb. 7 performance

BOONE—Kit Gruelle, a domestic violence activist, educator, volunteer and film producer, will speak Thursday, Feb. 8, at 7 p.m. in Room 114 in Appalachian State University’s Carol G. Belk Library and Information Commons.

“Blazing Bassoons” ensemble performs Feb. 11 at Appalachian

BOONE—A nine-member woodwind ensemble called Blazing Bassoons will perform Sunday, Feb. 11, at 4 p.m. in Broyhill Music Center’s Rosen Concert Hall at Appalachian State University.

Barn dance held Feb. 2 at Appalachian

BOONE—The Appalachian Heritage Council at Appalachian State University will sponsor a barn dance Friday, Feb. 2, at Legends.

Appalachian’s Hayes Chamber Players perform Feb. 6

BOONE—Appalachian State University’s Hayes Chamber Players will present a program of contemporary and classical works Feb. 6 in Broyhill Music Center’s Rosen Concert Hall. The program begins at 8 p.m. Admission is free.

Intern Fair

than 30 corporations and agencies that offer internship and volunteer opportunities participated in the event. Participants included the Biltmore Estate, Moore Wallace, the largest printing company in North America, and Vanguard investment management company.
