Appalachian Chorale begins rehearsals of Fauré’s “Requiem” in January

BOONE—The Appalachian Chorale at Appalachian State University continues its 31st season with a performance of Gabriel Fauré’s “Requiem” on April 25, 2007.

All interested singers are invited to attend rehearsals beginning Jan. 8, 2007. Rehearsals are held every Monday evening during the university’s academic semester, except during official breaks and holidays.

Rehearsals are held from 7-9 p.m. in Room 214 Broyhill Music Center.

Music director Joby Bell welcomes any and all interested singers. There are no auditions. Cost is $7 for purchase of the music. For more information, contact Bell at (828) 262-6467 or belljr@appstate.edu.

The Appalachian Chorale was founded in 1975 as the University Choral Society. Former music directors include R. Carroll Stegall, Dennis Johnston, Clinton Parker, Robert Jones, Stephen Hopkins, Brian Bailey and Roosevelt Escalante.
