Appalachian Chorale performs all-Mozart concert Dec. 5

BOONE—The Appalachian Chorale will perform an all-Mozart concert on Tuesday, Dec. 5, at 8 p.m. in Broyhill Music Center’s Rosen Concert Hall at Appalachian State University. The program celebrates the chorale’s 31st season and the 250th anniversary of Mozart’s birth.

Arabic literature reading held Dec. 6 at Appalachian

BOONE—Dr. William Hutchins, a professor in the Department of Philosophy and Religion at Appalachian State University, will read from his recent translations of “Return to Dar al-Basha,” “Ten Again” and “Anubis” Dec. 6 at noon at the University Bookstore.

Gospel Choir performs Dec. 3 at Appalachian

Appalachian Concert Band performs Nov. 29

BOONE—The Appalachian Concert Band from Appalachian State University’s Mariam Cannon Hayes School of Music performs in concert Nov. 29 in Broyhill Music Center’s Rosen Concert Hall. The concert begins at 8 p.m. Admission is free.

Appalachian’s Office of International Programs has new name

BOONE—The Office of International Programs at Appalachian State University has been renamed the Office of International Education and Development (OIED) to better reflect the scope of its activities.

Area benefactors help others pursue college education

BOONE—John Blackburn is grateful for the financial help he received when he was a college student. The general manager of Eseeola Lodge in Linville, and member of Appalachian State University’s Board of Trustees, says if it weren’t for scholarships, he would not have been able to earn a college degree.

Appalachian Guitar Ensemble performs Nov. 28

BOONE—The Appalachian Guitar Ensemble from the Mariam Cannon Hayes School of Music at Appalachian State University will perform Nov. 28. The recital begins at 8 p.m. in Broyhill Music Center’s Rosen Concert Hall. Admission is free.
