5K run to benefit Community Care Clinic and Hunger Coalition

BOONE—The Exercise Science Club at Appalachian State University will sponsor the second annual Run 4 Relief, a five kilometer run/walk to raise money for the Community Care Clinic and the Watauga County Hunger Coalition.

The event will be held Nov. 11 beginning at 11 a.m. at the university’s intramural fields off State Farm Road and will be held rain, shine or snow.

Pre-registration cost is $10 for students and $20 for nonstudents. Registration is $15 and $25 on the day of the race. Checks should be made payable to Exercise Science Club with the notation Run for Relief on the memo line.

Forms should be returned to front desk in the Department of Health, Leisure and Exercise Science or mailed to Department of Health, Leisure and Exercise Science, Exercise Science Club, Box 32071, Boone, NC 28608.

Race packets, which include a T-shirt, race number and other information, will be available for pick up Nov. 10 from 4:30-6 p.m. at the Department of Health, Leisure and Exercise Science, and Nov. 11 between 10 and 10:30 a.m. at the check-in tent located at the intramural fields.
