A Distinguished Gathering

121405legislators_dl.jpgSeveral North Carolina legislators gathered at Appalachian State University recently to learn more about the university’s research and public service initiatives. They heard presentations from Appalachian faculty regarding the Department of Chemistry’s evolving viticulture program, research being conducted at the Department of Physics and Astronomy’s Dark Sky Observatory, research and community outreach regarding alternative energy, including wind power, and research on exercise and the immune system conducted in the Department of Health, Leisure and Exercise Science.
