Professor Welcomes Year of Physics Celebration with Albert Einstein Presentation

012805mamola_dl.jpgBOONE—Appalachian State University physics professor Karl Mamola will discuss “Einstein’s Remarkable New York Summers” on Monday, Feb. 7, from 7 to 8 p.m. in Room 108 of the CAP Science Building on Rivers Street.

Mamola is the editor of the national physics teaching journal The Physics Teacher. His presentation will recount some of the more humorous and momentous events that occurred during Einstein’s visits to eastern Long Island during the late 1930s.

The year 2005 has been designated the World Year of Physics to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Einstein’s legendary papers on quantum theory, Brownian motion and special relativity.
