Appalachian Board Adopts Search Committee Recommendations

BOONE–The Appalachian State University Board of Trustees today voted unanimously to adopt the recommendations of the chancellor search committee and to forward the names of finalists in the chancellor search to UNC President Molly Broad.

University chancellors in North Carolina are elected by the UNC Board of Governors on nomination of the president, with the president selecting her nominee among candidates recommended by the institutional board of trustees.

Robert G. Fox, Jr., chairman of the Appalachian board, said the search committee elected to provide President Broad a brief summary of its impressions of each recommended finalist together with its unranked recommendations and feedback received from university constituents throughout the search process.
