Summer Craft Enrichment Program Begins in June

BOONE–The Michael R. Patricelli Craft Enrichment Program at Appalachian State University offers more than a dozen hands-on workshops beginning in June.

Workshops are held in Kerr Scott Hall on Rivers Street.

Workshops on beginning pottery, ceramic mosaics and beginning welding and blacksmithing meet on Mondays, June 9-July 28. The beginning pottery workshop meets from 6-8:30 p.m. Cost is $125. Class times for the ceramic mosaics workshop are 6-8:30 p.m.. Cost is $135. The welding and blacksmithing workshop meets from 6:30-9 p.m. Cost is $125.

Intermediate pottery, and beginning, intermediate and advanced jewelry making will be offered on Tuesdays, June 10-July 29. Classes meet from 6-8:30 p.m. Cost is $145 for either of the workshops.

Workshops in raku pottery and intermediate and advanced stain glass will be offered on Wednesdays, June 11-July 30, from 6-8:30 p.m. Cost is $125 for the pottery workshop and $130 for the stained glass workshop.

Workshops running Thursdays, June 12-July 17, are hand building pottery, beginning stained glass. Classes meet from 6-8:30 p.m. Cost is $105 for the pottery workshop and $130 for the stained glass workshop.

Beginning and intermediate black and white photography will be offered on Fridays, 6-9 p.m., June 13-July 19. Cost is $145. A 35 mm manual camera is required.

A beginning weaving workshop will be offered on Saturdays, June 14-July 19. Classes meet from 9-11:30 a.m. Cost is $125.

A weekend session on making and mastering wood hand planes will be offered July 19-20. Cost is $165.

Basket making will be offered June 23-27 and July 28-Aug. 1 from 9 a.m. to noon. Cost for each session is $120.
