Summer Craft Enrichment Workshops

BOONE–The Appalachian State University Department of Technology will sponsor Craft Enrichment Workshops in pottery, photography, jewelry and stained glass this summer.

All workshops will meet in W. Kerr Scott Hall on campus.

Beginning pottery will meet on Wednesdays from 6-8:30 p.m., June 19-Aug. 7.

The class will cost $125 and is limited to 12 participants.

Children’s pottery will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2-3:15 p.m. June 4-20.

Participants must be older than the age eight.

The class will cost $70 and is limited to eight participants.

Intermediate pottery will meet Tuesdays from 6-8:30 p.m., June 25-Aug. 13.

Advanced pottery will meet Mondays from 6-8:30 p.m., June 10-July 29.

The classes will cost $135 and $140, respectively.

Additional clay may be purchased for $7.50 for 25 pounds.

Each class is limited to 12 participants.

Beginning and intermediate photography will meet Fridays from 6-9 p.m., June 21-Aug. 9.

Participants must have a 35 mm camera, preferably manual.

Each class costs $145.

Beginning photography is limited to eight participants and the intermediate class is limited to four.

The jewelry workshop will meet Tuesdays from 6-8:30 p.m., June 4-July 23.

The class is limited to 12 participants.

The advanced jewelry workshop will meet Mondays from 6-8:30 p.m., June 17-Aug. 5.

The class is limited to eight participants.

Both jewelry workshops will cost $145.

The stained glass workshop will meet Wednesdays from 6-8:30 p.m. and is divided into two sessions.

The first session will meet May 8-June 12 and will focus on the copper foil method.

The second session will meet June 26-July 31 and will focus on the lead came method.

Each session will cost $130 and is limited to eight participants.
