Guitar Duo’s CD Debuted in Concert Nov. 7

BOONE– Guitar duo Pasquale Rucco and Douglas James will perform Nov. 7 at 8 p.m. in Appalachian State University’s Broyhill Music Center.

Admission is free.

Rucco and James specialize in performing guitar literature of the early 19th century on authentic instruments of the period.

The two met and became friends at guitar festivals in northern Italy during the early 1990s.

Since that time they have performed together in the United States and Italy, charming audiences with their interpretations of music from the first true “golden age” of the guitar.

The concert features music from the duo’s new CD.

The works are among the most famous of the early Romantic guitar duo repertoire and were composed or arranged for two guitars during the first three decades of the 1800s. The compositions will be played on original French guitars constructed during the same period.
